Need a Degree?

Is it possible to start a business without having a degree in business management? I had an idea to start a storage business (such as extra space storage), but I have no clue where to start.

Can you give me some pointers?

Yes it is possible to start a business without a degree. Thousands of people do it every day.

Having said that the key to building a successful business is preparation and research. I would suggest that you start by buying yourself a good book on starting a small business to give you some idea of the kind of research you need to do. If you don't want to buy one, you could check out your local library.

Some of the topics these books cover include, defining and testing your business concept, developing a business plan, understanding the market, developingyour marketing strategy, raising finance, selecting the right business structure, tax issues, and other legal obligations.

If you do it properly it is quite involved, and if you don't, you are much less likely to suceed.

A course in small business management might also be a good idea.
